Respiratory

The primary function of breathing is to obtain oxygen for use by the body’s cells and eliminate carbon dioxide that the cells produce. When we talk about respiratory research, we are referring to the airways leading into and out of the lungs (nasal and oral cavities, pharynx, trachea) and the lungs themselves (primary bronchi - right and left, bronchioles and alveoli, the sites of gaseous exchange).
